The purpose of an Accounting major is to build on the foundation of the business core to enable the learner to understand accounting theory and its applications in the areas of financial, tax, not-for-profit and managerial accounting and in the practice of auditing. Special emphasis is placed on the organizational, analytical and professional skills required for success in the major business areas. UIU graduates are well prepared to deal with individuals, groups, ideas and technology.
