The Therapeutic Massage diploma program focuses on developing basic skills in therapeutic massage with a foundation in the structure and function of the human body. Each student will obtain competencies in basic computer skills, knowledge of Florida statutes and rules for therapeutic massage professionals, CPR, HIV-AIDS awareness. In addition the student will be trained in hydrotherapy and related therapies. Students will obtain practical hands-on training. The objective of this program is to train students to perform therapeutic massage and to prepare students to take the National Certification Examination to become a licensed massage therapist. Graduates of the program will qualify for entry-level positions as a massage therapist. Graduates must pass a national licensure examination, submit required documents to the Florida Board of Massage, and receive a license from the Florida Board of Massage Therapy to practice in the State of Florida.
