Mesa Community College (MCC) in Mesa, Arizona, is the largest of the 10 community colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District. Enrollment in the spring of 2007 topped 25,000 full- and part-time students. It was founded in 1963 as a branch campus of what is now Phoenix College but later was granted independent status. MCC offers transfer degrees of Associate in Arts, Associate in Business, Associate in Science, Associate in Transfer Partnership, Associate in General Studies and the Arizona General Education Core (AGEC) which is a 35-38 hour block of general education courses. MCC also offers more than 100 degrees of Associate of Applied Science and Certificate of Completion in fields such as Nursing, Electronics, Mortuary Science and others which prepare students for immed...
