Butte College is a community college located in northern California between the towns of Chico and Oroville and paradise. Butte College is a fully accredited two-year institution with educational facilities in Chico and Orland, and classes are offered in most of the District’s communities. The College also offers online courses. In 1966, Butte County voters created a local community college district to serve the educational and vocational needs of citizens. In 1967, Butte College began by offering law enforcement, fire science, and vocational nursing classes in various locations throughout Butte County.
