Southeastern University is a private, non-profit undergraduate and graduate institution of higher education located in southwestern Washington, D.C., in the United States. It was established in the YMCA 1879 and chartered by an Act of Congress in 1879. Its current president is Charlene Drew Jarvis, Ph.D., who for twenty years was a member of the Washington, D.C., city council. It has degree programs in Criminal Justice, Child Development, Public Administration, Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Liberal Studies, Computer Science, and Allied Health, a program initiated in 2006 at Greater Southeast Community Hospital.
