The University of Hawai`i-West O`ahu, is a public university and one of ten branches of the University of Hawaii system. Currently located in Pearl City, Hawaii, it is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and opened in January 1976. As a four-year institution, UH West O`ahu offers baccalaureate degrees in liberal arts and professional studies. Academic programs stress the exploration of interdisciplinary studies, cross-cultural and international studies and communication skills. A brand new, state-of-the-art UH West O`ahu campus, to be located in Kapolei, Hawaii, is scheduled for completion in Spring 2010.
