Concordia University is a comprehensive public university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is one of three universities in the province of Quebec that teach primarily in the English language. Concordia is ranked by Graduateshotline as one of the top engineering schools in Canada, and in 2007, was ranked among the top 400 universities internationally by the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES). The university traces its academic roots as far back as the late 19th century through two separate schools, the Jesuit-run Loyola College and the YMCA-based Sir George Williams University.
