It was established in 1865 by Asa Packer as a four-year technical school and has grown to include four diverse colleges. The university comprises over 4,600 undergraduate students, 2,000 graduate students, almost 600 professors, and almost 1,500 administrative professionals. The university has four colleges: the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science, the College of Arts and Sciences, the nationally ranked College of Business and Economics, and the graduate-only College of Education.
