Sanford Health is a non-profit, integrated health care delivery system composed of hospitals, clinics, long term care, managed care, licensed practitioners, a health plan, a foundation, a clinical research center and seven basic research centers. The organization based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota but its geographical reach covers over 60,000 square miles in South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Iowa. Previously known as Sioux Valley Hospitals and Health System, the system announced on February 3, 2007, its name change to Sanford Health to commemorate a $400 million gift from businessman and philanthropist T.
