Has anyone attended the Utah Career College?
I am trying to find out if the Utah Career College is a reputable College. I am looking at different schools in Utah that offer online degrees because I plan to move to Utah in about 2 years, but I'd like to start my degree now. I already have an associates degree in general studies. I haven't settled on a major yet.
So if you have attended, or know someone who has, please tell me whether you had a good experience and any good or bad points about it.
The one in West Jordan? It is accredited by: Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
That is one of the national accreditors, which is a real, but less accepted accreditation compared to the regional accreditation. So just for utility of your degree, I would look elsewhere.

How much $$ is college in Salt Lake City? What's the name of the career u have to study to teach spanish?
I'm from Spain and I wanna study college in Salt Lake City, Utah in two years. I want to study a career to be spanish teacher in the States. Do you know what's the name of the career you have to study to teach spanish? And how much is university a month more or less?? THANK YOU VERY MUCH :)
To teach in a High School you generally need a 4 year degree and a teaching certificate.
I know that there tends to be a shortage of teachers. I read and responded to your other question.
You should probably contact prospective employers early and find out which ones have tuition assistance programs. Often times you can start teaching before you have a degree or a teaching certificate and they'll pay all or part of your tuition for you to get a degree.
A few places to start:
Salt Lake Community College
Various School Districts (Granite, Davis County, etc)

I just graduated high school and will be attending college this fall, Every Year I was in high school I had taken some computer classes, I took the Computer Tech beginner and Advanced classes, as well as the Web page design beginner and advanced class. I really enjoyed these classes. I need some advice on which classes I could take in College so I could Major in this type of career specifically the University of Utah? How can I navigate this career path so I work on these type of movies?
College question: computer science really a 'top job'? What else to major in?
I live in northern Utah and I have been motivated to choose computer science as my major & top sites nominate it for the most rewarding career if one obtains a bachelor's degree. As I have searched Yahoo Answers, I've noticed that this is not the case at all. Indians and Chinese folks will take the jobs for less than minimum wage? CS majors end up unemployed?
What majors would you suggest where I don't have to compete with other graduates for jobs in? I want a good starting salary(@ least 45K), and I'm willing to get a Bachelor's degree.
I already have an associate's in pre-health of science... anything I can do with this.
Please help, I'm desperate & I've searched career & college sites all day long, but none of their statistics seem to be true with what real graduates say on Yahoo Answers.
Computer science is an excellent and fast growing field. Friends of mine that chose that as a major got the kind of job you're describing just after leaving school. There is a degree of competition, but the market is so large and varied you can work almost anywhere you want.
With your science degree... look for a field that incorporates both of them. My friend had a computer science degree as well as a science, and he went into Biomedical Engineering (designing prosthetics).
It's true that a lot of tech jobs are being outsourced, but there is plenty of available, well paying jobs in the US for citizens. You also have your pick of fields- programming, IT management, consulting, software engineering, etc. Every major company in the world has an IT department.
Hope that helps- best of luck!

Does anyone know of a college in or near Utah that offers doctorate degrees in Zoology?
I need a college that offers doctorate degrees in zoology or animal behavioral science. I would love to be an animal therapist, but I don't know how to get to that point, and zoology is the closest career I can find. I was looking on the internet for hours but couldn't find anything near Utah, or anything that was even sufficiently answering my question...
I did find a page for BYU that was talking about offering zoology, but I guess that was outdated, it was from 1997, and now they don't offer zoology programs anymore... so please, please, please, if you guys know about any colleges that offer zoology, particularly NOT marine biology, can you tell me?
Thank you
medical assistant: associates vs just certified?
ultimately, i wanna be an RN.
pretty much, i am looking at going to Vista College and getting certified as a medical assistant for $15,000 and 9 months, or i can get an associates degree for $35,000 at Utah Career College in two years. would it be better to get the degree and later become an RN, or just get certified and work on getting becoming an RN? either way, i wanna get at least a degree as an RN eventually.
also, i keep hearing that some hospitals will help pay to send you back to school. how likely is that really?

Can a company fire someone that CANT change work schedule b/c of college schedule?
i live in Salt Lake City Utah. the company where i work at is now requiring me to change my work schedule. this is just resent news. i already have my college classes set and tuition payed. the new work schedule they are setting will not allow me to take ANY classes. they are not willing to make exceptions even though its a call center with hundreds of employees and its not like i am needed at the particular time.
in this economy, is very hard to find another job. i don't want to be fired. but i don t want to lose a whole semester. do they have the right? can they actually fire me for perusing my career in college? can they actually make me drop all my classes? can they fire me for not wanting to change my work schedule for school? is it legal?
Maybe you work in Orem lol- If so, I worked at that same call center's other center in Michigan. Anyways- yes they can fire you if you cant work there schedule- its not illegal. Its nuts they dont work with you, and if thats the case I wouldnt want to work for them anyways thats ridiculous and unheard of- I would try to speak with the head manager or the highest ups you can go. But all the same, if you cant get anywhere you have one of two options- 1. If you worked full time, go ahead and let them fire you and collect unemployment. If part time, just quit. or 2. Withdraw this semester from school (I wouldnt but I throw it out there).
Sorry, in this economy, your right its hard to get a job, but at the same time, employers can use people all they want because theres probably 10 other people willing to take your job.
