Washington State University (WSU) is an American public research university in Pullman, Washington. WSU is the state's largest land-grant university and offers more than 200 fields of study. It is one of 96 public and private universities in America with "very high research activity," as determined by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. It is ranked among the top half of national universities (tied for 118th) according to U.S. News. The flagship campus in Pullman is located on the eastern border of the state in the Palouse region. There are regional campuses in Vancouver (WSU Vancouver), Spokane (WSU Spokane), and the Tri-Cities (WSU Tri-Cities).
