College Profile: Collin County Community College District
The Collin County Community College District is a community college district which serves Collin and Rockwall Counties, located north and northeast of Dallas. Founded in 1985, the district has grown as the county has grown: from around 5,000 students in 1986 to about 44,000 in 2007. Also within 2007 the college rebranded itself and is now known purely as "Collin College". Among the locals it is known as "Quad C" after the four 'C's in the former name's acronym. As defined by the Texas Legislature, the official service area of CCCCD is the following: all of Collin and Rockwall Counties, andthose portions of Denton County within the cities of Frisco and The Colony, and those portions of the county included within the Celina, and Prosper school districts.

Can I transfer to a different community college after one semester?
Right now I'm attending Collin County Community College in Mckinney Texas but I really hate it because it's in my home town and I just want to get out. So, I was wondering if it would be possible to transfer to Austin Community College for the spring semester.? Also, what would I need to do to make this happen?
You need to communicate with the admissions department at Austin Community College, show them your transcript from Collin County, and inquire whether you need to take any placement tests or whether test scores from your admissions work at Collin County will count. Because you are transferring between schools in Texas, the good news is that credit transfer shouldn't be too much of a problem. Texas colleges and universities all use the same system for identifying courses, so the admissions office at Austin will instantly know the meaning of everything on your transcript. You'll have to talk to them, though, about tuition costs, since community colleges actually are in "districts," just like public schools. You'll also want to talk to counseling about making the transition as smoothly as possible. If you can visit Austin in person to deal with these matters, it would be wise to do so.
What are some good community colleges in Dallas or fort worth texas?
Im looking forward to majoring in Nursing. I will be graduating from high school this coming May.. I will be moving to Dallas texas and unfortunately i might have to go to a community college in texas for my first and/or second year of college..What are some good community colleges in Dallas,Texas??
The first answer is that the local community colleges are all good. I happen to believe the Collin County College is stellar. And boy, what a bargain: my son took three courses at "Quad C" (CCCC = Collin County Community College), and I laughed out loud while I wrote the tuition check (he's about to graduate from a private school in Tennessee).
However, you get your best break on tuition if you live (and have lived for a while) in the district for the community college you are planning to attend. That is, if you want to attend Quad C, consider moving to Collin County instead of Dallas County.
Also, look into what sort of partnerships the community colleges have with local schools that have nursing programs, because if they've done it right, all of your courses will transfer it (they'll fit into the degree plan). Of course, that also means shopping the universities that offer nursing degrees. I believe (but don't know) that two of the best nursing schools locally are in Denton, and I don't know the differences in their costs or reputations.
Are there any good colleges to receive a bachelors degree in Texas?
currently earning my Associates Degree in graphic design but want to go for a bachelors degree. I would like to know if there's any good colleges in Texas that have a bachelors degree program in graphic design....
Rice is one of the most prestigious schools in the country. U Texas Austin is very good. SMU is pretty good.
Unfortunately, none of those offer a bachelors in graphic design.
These are the ones that do:

please givjust one among the LOWEST school to study intensive English in U.S?
PLEASE BE SERIOUS IN THIS.
If you are inquiring about the lowest cost...basically any state university or community college within the U.S. is inexpensive (compared to private). Jacksonville State University claims to be one of the least expensive universities in the Nation (I'm not sure if that's true though).
http://www.jsu.edu/
I do know that community colleges are the least expensive and you should be able to located a good english program in many of them across the U.S.
Additionally, most 4 year state universities offer English to international students. It would be helpful to know what region of the U.S. you are interested in as it would make a difference in the cost. Distance learning is also a convenient alternative that can save money on things like transportation and room and board.
This was the least expensive college in the whole U.S that I could find; Collin County Community College District located in Plano, TX. Tuition cost residents $810. plus $300 in fees. (not including room and board or books) and only $1,110 + $300. in fees for non residents. You can review this website for the location that you prefer as well as the program of study.

Take care.
Also, it appears that public community colleges and universities have the least expensive tuition in the U.S..

Has anyone attended Platt College's LVN training in Dallas? If so how was your experience? Is it worth $31,000?
I'm registered to start Platt's LVN course in January. Just looking for advice and experiences with the program and college. Anyone have any books pertaining to the course that they're willing to sell?
Hi Patrice
Platt College is a proprietary school - that means it is a privately owned and for-profit. You probably will get a fine education there and pass the LVN licensing boards - it is okay to ask the Admissions Office what percentage of their LVN graduates pass the Boards the first time they take them.
If you are in Dallas, why don't you consider one of the public community colleges that offer LVN training. Compare the costs - LVN make pretty good money, but you certainly do not want to have any more debt that you absolutely have to when you graduate.
Here are three Dallas area community colleges with nursing programs:
Brookhaven College
Farmers Branch, TX
Collin County Community College District
Plano, TX
El Centro College
Dallas, TX
You probably live within one of these community college districts, and your tuition and fees will be lowest there.
Good luck to you

My essays are VERY well written, as are my letters of recommendation. Please give me your honest opinion. I live out of state (Dallas, Texas), but I lived in michigan my freshman year (i've moved around so that's why I haven't been able to be in an activity all 4 years). U of M is my dream school, but Pepperdine is my second choice, and then UT. Thanks so much!
Below, is a link to admissions at Michigan State. You would rank better than the average freshman with the information you've given. The following describes what they want and their typical freshman admissions standards. Enjoy your time at U of M. You worked hard and you deserve your dream college.
Freshmen Admission Criteria
Admission to Michigan State University is competitive, but there are no minimum requirements. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. MSU strongly encourages a college preparatory curriculum in high school. Students also are advised to apply early in their senior year.
Freshman admission is based on:
your academic performance in high school
the strength and quality of your curriculum
recent trends in your academic performance
your class rank
your ACT or SAT results
your leadership, talents, conduct, and diversity of experience

It will largely depend on which college you apply to.
The Engineering College will likely reject your application due to the GPA and standardized tests. The Business college may too.
The Liberal Arts and Performing Arts colleges are more likely to look at your whole package before deciding.

You will likely get into both, but Pepperdine is much more selective than Michigan, simply because it is a Christian-based college church.
Good luck.

You will get in if you apply!
your scores alone are very good on the SAT, ACT is higher than the national average. your activities show that you have many interests, but have narrowed in on what you like the most. I'm assuming that you're wanting to go into law by your activities. colleges like to see that you find something you like and stick with it.
I wish you the best of luck!
