My name is Lola and I'm a junior in high school. I really want to be a french elementary teacher, but I can't seem to find a college. I live in north alabama so any colleges around where I live would be preferred, but if there is none that offer this degree anywhere in alabama will be fine. I just don't want to have to pay out of state tuition :)
Any more information on this degree will be helpful also.
Thanx,
Lola

I would double major in French and Elementary education. It would make it easier and then you could go to many colleges.

You can do your first 4 years of college anywhere. Major in anything and take the premed classes in bio, chem, physics, math, and English. Look into Georgia Tech, Clemson, and UF. Then you apply to med school somewhere else after college.

I am 16 and my school is kinda putting the pressure on me to find a college that I am interested in. But the thing is I want to take Korean in college, and I've looked but maybe I'm not looking right.
So can anyone help?
Top Answer:
From what I'm seeing, there are indeed no schools in Alabama that offer a major in Korean Language. I'm sorry. None of the schools I'm seeing are even *near* Alabama. There might be schools that offer Korean without the major, but that's much harder to search for. You might ask your guidance counselor.
A quick look says that you want University of Hawaii (Manoa), Brigham Young University (Provo, UT), University of California (Los Angeles), Ohio State University (Columbus), or University of Washington (Seattle).
Since you're out-of-state, the cheapest of these will probably be BYU, but be aware that BYU caters to a very specific type of student, and if you aren't that type of student it might not be the best place for you.
It looks like the second cheapest will be University of Hawaii, which comes with the extra advantage of, you know, being in Hawaii, and also having a much higher Asian student population than the other schools (in case you're Asian and that's important to you). However, the fact that it has slightly lower tuition than the other public schools might be balanced out by the money you'll spend on flights (you certainly can't drive to Hawaii) and the higher cost of living in Hawaii.
BYU, UCLA, and UW all have very good academic reputations.
is there a site that can also give me the cost of attendance for these schools? thanks.

These Alabama schools all offer international relations:
University of Alabama - Tuscaloosa http://www.ua.edu
Samford University - Birmingham http://www.samford.edu
Spring Hill College - Mobile http://www.shc.edu
For more info on costs, see the Admissions section of each college's website.

Spelman, Tuskegee, and Clark Atlanta are the best undergrad HBCU in these states, but you should think carefully about this strategy of attending an HBCU. You would probably be better off attending a mixed university — ie with many Whites and Asians.
Two great friends of mine live in Hartford, Alabama and I live in Georgia. I'm trying to find a good college for aspiring authors near where they live so I can visit them. Any ideas?
Top Answer:
There aren't really any prestigious colleges in Alabama, unfortunately. The best ones--and therefore, most likely, the ones with the best English programs--are
*University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) (unfortunately about 4 hours from Hartford)
University of North Alabama (about 5 hours)
Tuskegee (2 hours) (historically black southern u)
Talladega College (about 3 hours)
*Auburn University (in Auburn) (about 2 hours)
Ones with * are the best
i want to major in nursing but i don't know what colleges offer nursing.
Top Answer:
I actually cannot name a major University that does NOT offer nursing. Even small community colleges have nursing programs.
