Did You Know? Delaware was the origin of Belton v. Gebhart, one of the four cases combined into Brown v. Board of Education, the seminal U.S. Supreme Court decision that culminated in the end of segregation in public schools. Significantly, Belton was the only case in which the state court found for the plaintiffs, thereby ruling that segregation was unconstitutional.

Delaware Technical and Community College-Stanton-Wilmington School offers an ASL certificate. It's in Newark.

It seems like you'll have to take some courses there before you start the certificate program, however. It's also not a major. So, you could commute to that school, get the certificate and some general education credits out the way, then transfer to another school to complete your bachelor's degree elsewhere.
I am having the hardest time figuring out what college I want to go to. I want to do something along the lines of broadcast journalism. Also, I do not want the college to be ridiculously expensive. I'd also like it to be in a nice area. Any suggestions?

I'm from Maryland. Two great universities here are UMBC and Salisbury University. I'm attending Wor Wic community college right now, which is located in Salisbury. After I get my associates, I will be transferring to Salisbury University. Good luck!

The obvious one is the University of Delaware.
However, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington are all within an hour -- and there are lots of colleges in all three places.
The best are: University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, Haverford College, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Villanova University, University of Maryland, St John's (Annapolis), the Naval Academy and Bryn Mawr College.
Princeton Review lets you search for colleges using a number of criteria -- including geography. The loink is below/

Keep in mind that Delaware is a very small state with a very limited number of colleges. As far as I can tell, the University of Delaware is the only university with a journalism program at all in the state, and that is only as a concentration within the English department. You might want to look further afield if you are really serious about this as a career goal.

I am looking for a small, suburban/rural undergraduate college which is strong in the sciences and has a friendly student body. I don't want a lot drinking or cigarette use.
Which one of the colleges below meets this criteria the best?
Franklin & Marshall College (PA)
Marlboro College (VT)
University of Delaware
Ursinus College (PA)
Wheaton College (MA)
Lafayette College (PA)
Bennington College (VT)
Juniata College (PA)
Anything you know about the above colleges is also useful! Thank you so much!
Top Answer:
Bennington has a lot of drug use (primarily marijuana)--a LOT. U Del has a lot of drinking. Wheaton is basically a sober campus (I believe it was rated a 'stone cold sober' school). Marlboro also has a lot of (pot) smoking.
Franklin and Marshall would be perfect for you I think. It's beautiful; the people are friendly; there's drinking and drug use but it's not notorious for that; it's the most prestigious college on your list...I visited and loved it and would definitely recommend it.
I'm looking at my college (delaware state university) apartments and one of the listing is a
two bed room/1 bathroom suite which is cheaper then the
two bed room/1 bathroom, my question is, is there a big difference bewteen a bathroom and a bathroom suite?
Thanks so much!!
Top Answer:
I lived in USF dorms for a year with a bathroom suite. The idea is that you share (at least in my case) a common area, and that common area shares what is similar to a public restroom with a shower with another common area. It might be a variation of this but the point is you are going to share the bathroom suite with other roomies. Since it's an apartment I'm not quite sure if it's the same though, I'd look more into it.
I live in Delaware with my parents.. So what is the best college or university that is best for teaching social studies to high school students and a minor of special ed .
Is that in Wilmington or Dover?
Top Answer:
It is the University of Delaware for undergraduate work. If it does not offer a special ed minor, you may take a special ed program at another university after you receive the bachelor's degree.
