I learned that if you plan on taking a course out of state that a college in your state doesn't offer, you don't have to pay out of state tuition. I would LOVE to go to school in West Virgina.

The program you're talking about is called the Academic Common Market. It allows students in certain southeastern states to pay in-state tuition rates at schools in the other participating states -- but only for certain programs. Each state decides which programs it will allow its residents to participate in outside the state. It appears that North Carolina only allows its residents to participate for graduate level programs in other states. Here's more information:

I want to be a librarian and I live in North Carolina. I really need to find some colleges to visit this summer. And it would be wonderful to stay in state and save some moolah.

This is a great undergrad degree for a graduate in library sciences. Major programs are looking for librarians that have the technology down. Information systems is the greatest challenge to the industry.

Free Open University has some classes you can look at over the summer just to get an idea.(they are free)

I am in high school and I want to become a doctor as my career but I do not know which colleges in North Carolina offer the degree to become one. I know for sure of UNC Chapel Hill, ECU, Wake Forest, and Duke... Are there any others?

You need to earn a Bachelor's degree before going to medical school. If you feel qualified, you can apply for dual degree programs (BA/MD or BS/MD). If not or you don't get in, you can get a Bachelor's degree from anywhere then apply to a medical school in North Carolina.

Does anyone know any colleges in North Carolina that offer a major in Forensic Science?
When I graduate high school I want to go into forensic science. I want to work on the crime scenes like CSI. Thanks for the help.

You will probably need to choose from biology, chemistry, physics. Most schools do not have a major called Forensic Science. If you think about CSI, they use lots of different specialties.

Find an App State forum and ask there... that would be the college probably best suited to your musical tastes in NC.

I'm interested in learning about horses and eventually pursuing a career in the area. I don't know much at all and have little to no actual experience. I was looking into equestrian colleges and found this place called Meredith Manor in West Virgina. I really like this program because it accepts beginners. Does anyone know of any other program that is similar in North Carolina?

NC State University is in the middle of downtown Raleigh. That's probably the most "urban" university in NC. (It's also the largest...and offers just about any major you can think of.)

UNC-Chapel Hill is sorta semi-urban. It's in a downtown area of Chapel Hill, but that is a significantly smaller city.

Duke University is in an urban area too...Durham. But it's a private university and may be expensive.

Others like UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Asheville or UNC-Wilmington may also fit your needs.
