Texas Colleges and Universities

I'm only 14 right now but i would really like to start getting more of an idea of where i might attend college...
I play football and ofcourse if i get scouted, then i'm sure i'll attend whatever college scouts me.
However* If i'm not that lucky then i would really want to become a chef.

So any colleges here in Texas good for cooking?
and possibly football also?
Any help will be appreciated :)

I made a 22 on my act and a1020 without writing on my sat. I also have a 86 gpa.Is that good enough to get into the smaller tx colleges like UNT, Sam h state, and SFA

Yes, that is good enough, especially if you're in the top 10-15%

I'm a music major in college and am close to graduating but still need to take upper lvl theory 3 & 4. Does anyone know of any Texas colleges that offer those during the summer. It's harder to find music classes in the summer so i was just wondering if anyone knew. Thanks for your time.

What is the surcharge for texas colleges/universities for having too many semester credit hours? Someone at school said at Texas A&M I will get hit hard with a surcharge for having too many semester credit hours. But I cannot find any hard numbers or facts to an amount. I know it exist, but need help on this; as I am trying to finish my degree the easiest/cheapest way possible. Thanks

look for the SAP (satisfactory academic progress) for the school that you are interested in. The credits that count toward it are any classes that you attempted at that university and all the ones that got transfered in.

If you go over the max amount of credits... you will not be eligible for financial aid... if you have the money to pay for school yourself than this doesn't really apply to you.

Usually there is a surcharge if you take the same class more than twice; but there generally not a surcharge for going over because it is very difficult to go over.

usually it is about 180 - 200 credits max for a degree... most BA degrees require about 120 credits... so that gives you a lot of leeway anyway.

I am just starting to look at colleges, and I think I want to major in journalism/periodicals design. Do you know any Texas schools that have good journalism programs?? (experience/factual)

I've tried to find them through google but can only find online colleges. I need an actual brick and mortar institution, preferably in Houston. I did find that Texas A&M offers this degree but I know nothing about the school so if you know anything about it, feel free to include it in your answer. Please don't give any answers saying things like "use search engine this" or use this resource - I need specific names of schools that have this degree available. This is a serious inquiry. University of Houston--Clear Lake has a graduate program in Human Resources Management

Otherwise, within 100 miles of Houston, it is either TxA&M or Sam Houston State in Huntsville.

Lots of smart people in Clear Lake - definitely worth checking out

Private or state colleges. Looking for colleges that have a Human Resource Development major. In TEXAS. Just a junior trying to get a grip! haha

im in the 11th grade and its time for me to research colleges, they have to be in texas though because i go to an early college high school and my college credits will only transfer to a texas college..

Start with the University of Texas-Austin. However, if your credits will transfer to a private university in Texas, also consider Rice if your record is strong enough. Rice usually gives enough aid so that anyone who is admitted can attend.

You will need to go on to earn a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in a five-year graduate school program after you earn your bachelor's degree if you want to be licensed as a psychologist, so try to save your money or indebtedness for graduate school.
